Our Wedding

We met at Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY, and over the years, we kept crossing paths through our friend circle and at curated events. Though we each lived full, independent lives and faced personal challenges, faith brought us back together. On a warm summer night at an end-of-summer pool party in New Jersey, we reconnected as friends—no expectations, just two friends sharing life stories—and in that moment we became lifelines for each other. Our journey hasn’t been without challenges, but our love has stood the test of time. Last summer, we reaffirmed our commitment and realized there’s no him without her and no her without him. On Thanksgiving evening, 11/27/25, Kirk surprised Alisha with a proposal—down on one knee, surrounded by family and friends. As we prepare to exchange vows before our Savior, family, and friends on this special and scared day, June 20, 2026. We pledge our undying love and pray the Lord continually blessIing our marriage as we begin this new chapter together.

Parents' of Bride & Groom

Shirley "aka" Mummy/Ms. Ivey- Mom, you have shaped me into the woman I am today—a go-getter, self-reliant, strong, educated, and so much more. Your guidance, strength, and example have been the foundation of who I’ve become.

Most importantly, you taught me how to love without limits—to give a faithful, Godly love. That same love you have so freely given is the love I now carry into my marriage, and the love you have shown in welcoming Kirk as your son from the very beginning.

Your presence, wisdom, and unwavering support mean more than words can express.
We love you, Mom

Shirley Ivey-Johnson

Cecelia "aka" Mommy/CC. Mom, you have been a constant and loving cheerleader of our union from the very beginning. You have shown up for us both—together and individually—with unwavering support, grace, and love.

You have truly honored the role of a mother-in-law through Godly love, choosing to gain a daughter in this union rather than feeling the loss of a son. That kind of love is a gift, and it has meant so much to us.

We are grateful for your presence, your encouragement, and the love you so freely give.
We love you, Mom!

Cecelia Cuavers

Trevor Henry "aka" Daddy, although you may be absent, your presence is deeply felt. You laid a strong foundation of love and unity among my siblings and me—a bond that continues to guide us every day.

Today, my eldest brother, Richard Henry, stands in your place, and it is with great honor that we carry forward the strength and love you instilled in us.

You taught me to love myself and to take pride in my name. And as I stand today, stepping into a new chapter and taking on a new name, I will always be a Henry by blood and by heart. As you’ve always reminded me, “You are a Henry.”

I will carry that same pride, strength, and love into this new path of my life.

We love you always, Daddy

Trevor Henry

Irving "aka" Daddy/Bumpy- Although we have been separated by distance and different countries, your love has never felt far. From the very beginning, you have offered words of encouragement, unwavering support, and genuine care.

You have shown patience, kindness, and a father’s love in welcoming me as your daughter, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Your presence in our lives means so much, and your love continues to guide and uplift us.
We love you, Dad

Irving McCarthy

In Loving Memory

Although you have gained your heavenly wings, this day would not be possible without you. Ingrid, you helped me see the depth and sincerity of Kirk’s love for me and our family. In the early days of our relationship—and especially in your final moments—he showed up with a selfless love, as if he had always been there.

You welcomed him as a brother, and he embraced you as a sister. On the night you began your journey home, it was his birthday, June 22. Yet, he never once put himself first. On the morning of June 23, when we said our goodbye, his care for me never wavered. Even in the years that followed, he continued to check on me before celebrating his own day.

Through that unwavering love, you opened my eyes to see him not only as my partner, but as my husband.

I am forever grateful that you were part of our journey and our union. As we celebrate our love today, we also honor your memory, your presence, and the love you gave so freely.

We love you always, Sister 🤍

Groomsman

Kareem, thank you for being the cousin and the man that you are. Your quiet and humble demeanor has always spoken volumes about your character. When I needed someone to answer the call, you stepped in, stepped up, and stood by my side without hesitation. Your support has meant more than words can express.

Thank you for being not only my cousin but also a true friend. Your loyalty, kindness, and willingness to be there when it mattered most will always hold a special place in my heart.
